Excel at Oak Hill Excels; OCCHA Expands

We were busy this week with Microsoft Excel classes!

With over 20 attendees at our Tuesday and Thursday classes in Trumbull County and Wednesday at our main location in Youngstown, we’re glad to announce more opportunities to excel are coming up in May!

Two more Excel classes will be offered in Warren this month. Beginner to Intermediate Excel will be taught on May 16 at TCAP and at Triyounity on May 21. Both classes begin at 6 p.m.

We’re also planning to offer another Microsoft Excel class at Oak Hill Collaborative after a fantastic turnout with our Digital Navigator Terri Singleton.

Sarah Russell, a Digital Navigator and Outreach Specialist who plans the monthly schedules, said offering more Excel courses is in Oak Hill’s future.

“We get so many questions about Excel when we do teach our Excel classes, and Terri really answers a lot of those common questions,” Russell said. “With our classes in the future, we would like to cover more pivot tabling, how to make budgets and common Excel formula shortcuts.”

Keep an eye on our May schedule for any updates.

Our Thrive 10:10 location is also prepared for an exciting opening, with almost 15 individuals pre-registered to attend. Sign-ups for our Intro to Computer Basics are still open, and you can register on our website.

“Because of an overwhelming response, we had to expand from our original classroom location to a larger main room for more accessibility,” Russell said. “We’re looking forward to getting back to teaching those computer basics.”

Another exciting announcement this week comes from our collaboration with Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana, Inc.

Classes taught at OCCHA are expanding, and will now last two hours. Each class starts at 10 a.m. and will go until 12 p.m. The first class of the month will be Microsoft Word.

To raise more awareness for our classes at OCCHA, we’ll also be participating in the Cinco de Mayo on Phelps celebration on May 5.
