Summer to bring the heat – and MORE at OHC

As we round out our May calendar, summer classes are heating up with a new month of scheduling on the way from Oak Hill Collaborative.

While we have Monday off to observe Memorial Day, May 28th will feature not one, not two, not three, but four different class opportunities across Mahoning and Trumbull County.

If you’ve ever been curious about “the cloud” or how digital storage on your device works, two workshops will be offered on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at our main location in Youngstown.

Our digital navigator Ariana Wyndham will be off-site in Youngstown at Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana, also known as OCCHA.

Wyndham, who specializes in teaching bilingual classes, will instruct resume writing starting at 10 a.m.

Then, in Trumbull County, visit our Warren location at Triyounity at 6 p.m. to get started with your own email!

Anthony Hake, our Trumbull County digital navigator will go over how to create an email account, creating a safe and secure password, as well as demonstrate how you can safely sign off of your email account after use.

On Wednesday, we will host an Open Tech from 1 until 4 p.m. to help aid anyone who may need guidance through specific digital navigation, and will be followed up by our MakerSpace at 5 p.m.

Then, on May 30, we’ll be back at hitting the books with three more opportunities to attend our courses.

At our main branch on Thursday, we’ll instruct an interactive “How to Zoom” class. We’ll not only show how to create an account and begin a Zoom meeting, but join and participate in a Zoom call during both our 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. classes.

We’ll also be back at Triyounity for a TeleHealth course where you can learn how to navigate appointments and results from healthcare providers at 10 a.m.

Our June calendar updates will be released in the coming week, and we hope to see you next month!

In conjunction with the Mahoning Valley Crime Stoppers, their third episode was released on Thursday.

The episode brought in Jason Simon with the Youngstown Police Department to discuss some of the behind the scenes details and actions law enforcement undergoes when dealing with cold cases in the Mahoning Valley.

The episode is currently available on YouTube.
