As our April schedule rounds out, May offers more opportunities to expand your horizons with technology.
Our services in Trumbull County are expanding in May with an exciting new location.
We’re thrilled to announce we will begin teaching at Thrive 10:10 in Girard, located inside Girard First United Methodist Church, every Wednesday.
Our first class at Thrive 10:10 will be Computer Basics on May 8 at 3:00 p.m.
Our tech workshops have also expanded in Youngstown to Organización Cívica y Cultural Hispana Americana, Inc. for a Spanish learning experience. The final class of the month will be Email Basics on April 30.
Upcoming May workshops at OCCHA include Microsoft Word on May 14 and Resume Writing on May 28. Para ayuda en Español, contacto ariana@oakhillcollaborative.org
April also concluded the spring Work Advance program in Trumbull County.
Our Digital Navigator and Outreach Specialist Shirley Brady has been a part of the initiative since October and has helped train students through three cohorts.
During these cohorts, students had the opportunity to engage in career-readiness programming with hands-on training in robotics, 3D printing, resume building, interview preparation and more.
Oak Hill Collaborative was a proud partner alongside the Trumbull Community Action Partners, Trumbull County Job and Family Services, COMPASS, Aspire Trumbull County, Warren Forward, Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition and Eastern Gateway Community College.
More information on the next Work Advance program is expected to be released by summer.
Oak Hill Collaborative is also proud to announce 14 Mahoning Valley residents graduated through our Hardware 4 Homes program in April.
After attending five classes through Oak Hill Collaborative, individuals are able to go home with a new laptop — free of charge. The Hardware 4 Homes initiative is qualifiable to both our Mahoning and Trumbull county courses.
