Oak Hill Collaborative will celebrate the eighth annual Digital Inclusion Week, led by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, by hosting 18 events across Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
Digital Inclusion Week, a national week of awareness, recognition and celebration, honors the efforts of communities and organizations who are dedicated to bridging America’s Digital Divide. OHC has been an affiliate of the NDIA since 2017.
This year’s theme, “Stronger Together: Mobilizing Towards Sustainability,” perfectly aligns with OHC’s goals to empower, educate and ensure digital access is available to all Ohioans.
“Here at the Collaborative, we celebrate Digital Inclusion Week to recognize the need for increased opportunities to bridge the Digital Divide by highlighting the variety of classes and workshops we offer to the public across the Mahoning Valley,” said Patrick Kerrigan, Executive Director of OHC.
In 2019, Youngstown Ohio was ranked #19 out of over 600 cities across America for the worst broadband connectivity, including mobile by the NDIA. Our goal is to fight that ranking and connect residents through education and improving access to technology.
OHC extends an invitation to advocates, policymakers, educators, media and all committed to digital equity, to help make Digital Inclusion Week a seminal moment in our ongoing efforts to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the digital resources they need.
All workshops and classes offered are free to attend. For more information, a schedule of events is attached below.
OHC is proud to showcase its growth through national events such as Digital Inclusion Week, more than doubling the amount of events offered from 2022.
Oak Hill Collaborative would like to thank the NDIA for its diligence in representing underserved populations and individuals who deserve equal opportunities with technical education.
Whether you are interested in attending our OHC Bootcamp, Spotlight Series or a 3D Printing Workshop – we would like to extend our gratitude to you, our students, for making events like this possible.
The NDIA celebrates Digital Inclusion Week every October. OHC has registered each event through the NDIA’s website, and each event has a provided description. Over 150 events held across the country can be viewed online at digitalinclusion.org.
