Ashtabula, Ohio — Oak Hill Collaborative is proud to announce it will begin classes at The Ashtabula Community Technology Action Center on Feb. 12, which will be OHC’s first-ever digital education site in Ashtabula County.
The Center, which will be housed at 4366 Main Avenue, Ashtabula, is beside the Huntington Bank building and will be used for computer skills development and digital literacy education.
Pre-registration is required, and all courses are free to the public. At each class, OHC will provide a learner laptop and Internet for participants to use during the hour.
OHC staff will instruct beginner-friendly computer courses twice a week. Classes in Ashtabula will be held every Wednesday and Friday at 1 p.m. and the Center will only be open during those times. Classes will not be hosted on holidays.
Additionally, the location will be a part of OHC’s Hardware 4 Homes Program, allowing qualified individuals to earn a free, refurbished laptop after completing five (5) different courses.
In addition to classes in Ashtabula, OHC instructs computer education at more than 10 different locations across Northeast Ohio.
“We are very excited to expand and help aid the residents of Ashtabula County,” said Executive Director Pat Kerrigan. “Our initiatives to bridge the Digital Divide perfectly align with the needs of many residents in the county.”
Oak Hill Collaborative would like to thank the efforts of Ashtabula County Commissioners for helping fund the program.
