The Ashtabula Foundation awarded Oak Hill Collaborative $12,500 toward its Digital Advantage Initiative in the county on August 13.
The funding marks year two of OHC providing free digital education classes to county residents, as well as laptops to those in need after completing a number of classes.
OHC’s Assistant Director Sarah Russell said “The impact that this generous grant gives us is lifechanging for residents of Ashtabula. We distributed well over a hundred devices to residents last year, many of which did not previously own one, or needed it for work or schooling. Not only do residents learn, we empower them to go home and stay connected afterwards.”
Programming from OHC consists of a variety of digital topics, such as Computer Basics, Microsoft Products, Scams and Frauds, and other critically important skills.
